Scott Properties purchased the site unconditionally in 2018, by which point it had been identified as a draft allocation in the emerging Local Plan. A mixed-scheme comprising a 75 bed care home and 19 dwellings was prepared to maximise the development potential of the site. Following pre-application advice and a public consultation, a detailed planning application was submitted in 2019, and planning permission was granted in 2020. The care parcel was sold to Avery in 2021 and the residential parcel is being developed by Scott Residential as Coulson Gardens.
